Dr. Nicole Sanderson

I am a Research Scientist and soon-to-be Professor in Physical Geography at the Université du Québec à Montréal. My hands have touched peat and soils in remote areas of Subarctic Canada, China, South Africa, to study environmental challenges: from “nature-based climate solutions” and conservation of the world’s largest carbon sinks, to agricultural soil erosion, and sea-level rise. I am an advocate for women and underrepresented groups with PhDs in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), and happy to share my passion for the hidden world of peat bogs.
