Dr. Mylène Gagne

I am a young physician, mother of twins, wife, sister and friend who cares for hospitalized patients in a rural hospital in Eastern Ontario. For the patient, my hands allow me to diagnose, understand and discover illness. In these (pandemic) times with masks, they allow me to communicate with the hard of hearing and deaf. With the dying, a simple touch serves as a reminder of the vulnerability and fragility of human life. This touch makes me feel privileged to be able to share such intimate personal moments with others.
