I hold in the palm of my hand one of the most precious items from my childhood. I use my hands to delicately wrap the plaster characters from this antique “crèche” in order to unwrap it every Christmas. Hands and hearts are needed to maintain important family traditions such as hiding baby Jesus until after midnight mass or Christmas morning. Women use their hands to hold, protect, keep and cherish.
